BGU Scholarships

Only students who have been accepted at BGU and approved by the Academic Affairs Committee can apply for a scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP PHILOSOPHY
Bakke Graduate University is committed to good stewardship of its scholarship resources. We are committed to seeing that the very best practitioners in the field of global urban mission or business receive scholarship funding to further God’s Kingdom work.

Bakke Graduate University is committed to training both indigenous practitioners who have a passion for urban ministry in their local contexts, and business students and practitioners who have a passion for Christ in the marketplace.

Bakke Graduate University is committed to training leaders. We believe that leaders have followers, and as a result have the ability to access additional sources of funding beyond what BGU may be able to provide. We encourage you to explore other opportunities for financial support for your education.

Bakke Graduate University is committed to the:

  • DMin degree that turns practitioners into professors who can teach what they know to the next generation of leaders.
  • MAGUM degree that provides students with a theological foundation and practical skills for ministry leadership in a global urban environment.
  • MBA & MASCE degrees that provide business skills from a Christian worldview to private sector leaders.

      MASTERS SCHOLARSHIPS
Any student who is financially able is welcome to undertake any of the BGU Masters degrees - MAGUM, MASCE and MBA. For Masters’ courses delivered in the US, only a limited number of scholarships are awarded, and those are given exclusively to students residing in North America.

Quality Masters programs (non-business) are available in seminaries around the globe, at a cost scaled to local economies, and we encourage international students to enroll in one of those programs.

      NOTICE

Currently there is very limited funding available for new scholarships. You are welcome to submit your scholarship application to BGU and it will be kept on file for review at a date yet to be determined.

    •
    • Scholarship amounts and award guidelines are subject to change at the University’s discretion, and they may be adjusted based on the competitiveness of the applicant pool and the availability of funds.

    •
    • It is suggested that international students who will be traveling to the United States to attend courses apply for a 2-week business visa. (BGU no longer prepares I-20 forms that are needed to obtain an F-1 student visa).

    • The maximum award of 50% tuition will be given to any student residing in North America, any North American student living internationally, and any student from an OECD country (including Hong Kong).

    • Any scholarship applicant who is related to any member of the BGU board, staff, faculty or member of the scholarship committee must give full disclosure.

    • A DMin scholarship is only applicable to the required 40 DMin credits, and does not apply to the masters-level extended DMin courses. For international DMin students, your extended courses can be taken locally (preferably at a MSF or local BGU partnership school if possible) and transferred in to BGU.

    • Scholarship recipients who withdraw from active enrollment without completing their initial course can be held responsible for full repayment of all tuition assistance.

    • Scholarship funds will be applied ONLY if (1) all previous coursework is completed and turned in, (2) a GPA of 3.25 is maintained, and (3) the student account is paid up. Failure to meet these requirements will result in a HOLD being placed on the student's account, and no further funds will be awarded. It will be the student's responsibility to comply with the requirements in a timely manner or risk forfeiture of the scholarship, in which case the student will need to reapply.

    • Any student on scholarship who has not taken or registered for a course in over a year will forfeit his/her scholarship. The student would then need to reapply.
