“iPromise was born out of the intercourse of two powerful forces. One was a deep yearning for the transformation of a nation, bursting with potential, yet repressed by negative moral and social ills. The other was an inexpressible passion to see the Church in Jamaica growing to her full potential as God’s children, made in His image and likeness.
Pulsating through the veins of “iPromise” are the values of Jamaica’s National Pledge: love and loyalty of heart, wisdom and courage of mind, strength and vigor of body, all in the service of fellow-citizens. It’s a promise “to stand up for justice, brotherhood and peace” a work ethic marked by diligence and creativity, relationships based on generosity and honesty. “iPromise” calls upon the communion of believers to take the lead in becoming the change we seek.
BGU was the fertile milieu in which this passion was nourished and lovingly channeled by my Godly mentors and teachers. “iPromise could have been stillborn, but for their encouragement during the intense labor.
