We are glad to inform you about an update on the Africa School Project of Stichting Life & Peace International. Please read a report of the organization creating this extraordinary service for children. Moses Alagbe, BGU alumnus is coordinator of this project.
On Monday 11th September 2017, the school began to admit children into the nursery and primary classes after several weeks of rigorous interviews and selection of teachers. During our time in Nigeria, we trained the teachers every day for three weeks to understand the vision of the school. It is our desire that these children will make a difference wherever they go.
Our goal is to train these children in academic and moral excellence. The seven habits of effective people developed by Steven Covey but adapted for children is central in the school curriculum. In addition the values that are being taught are: Integrity, commitment, excellence, team work, transparency, professionalism & accountability.
The school was introduced to the community and the introduction meeting was well attended. In attendance was the chief and his entourage, all the community leaders, Muslims and Christian leaders. It was great to see everybody together despite their religious affiliation.
