My name is Clifford Kuyokwa, I am from Malawi in Central Africa. I study at the Doctor of Transformation Leadership program of Bakke Graduate University. As a student studying transformation leadership at doctoral level, I have a high interest in joining my fellow students of the City and Global Transformation Urban Immersion in Nairobi, Kenya May 1-10, 2020. This urban immersion course will expose me as a student to various transformational leadership principles and practices in an African global city. This immersion will also glean transferable principles for contextual integration into my personal life and ministry.
Both Malawi and Kenya are African countries which may have face common leadership challenges especially in areas of poverty and social justice. I work as an Executive Director of an international non-governmental organization where our vision is to eradicate poverty. Therefore, my desire is to join the Nairobi immersion and to acquire knowledge, experiences, leadership challenges and skills which I will be able to use later in my workplace and if possible, I will also apply them to my country’s society. I strongly believe that the immersion in Kenya will help me to understand how the Kenyans are dealing with different cases that affect them in order to transform their country. Leaders are crucial when it comes to be agents of transformation in any country. I also believe that God has called me to become a Christian leader in order to provide Christ-like leadership approach to my community and country at large.
