The BGU family is very sad to learn of the loss of one our most enthusiastic and encouraging DTL students, friend, and leader, Alisa Evans. She was present in the BGU Manila Urban Immersion as well as several other courses and added energy and warmth to each class. Please pray for her family and friends as they seek God’s comfort in the midst of this loss for all of us.
From Alisa’s Go Fund Me page:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our precious Alisa has gone to be with the Lord.
She took her last breath early yesterday morning (10/11/20) at home surrounded by her loving husband, Lewis, and many family members.
Lewis asked us to share how much he and Alisa appreciate your prayers and gifts during this difficult journey. In fact, they have been overwhelmed by the love and support they have received from all over the world from concerned friends like you.
We had hoped to have good news to share this week as Alisa’s last MRI showed hopeful results; but, God had other plans.
And, although we are deeply saddened that Alisa isn’t with us, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is rejoicing in heaven with our Lord and Savior and that one day soon all of God’s children will be home together.
As we all look forward to that day, we want to encourage you with some of Alisa’s last words, “to carry on the work of the Lord,” for there is still much to do.
We are making plans for a virtual memorial service to honor Alisa and hope that you will be able to join us. We will share these details once finalized.
Until then, “carry on,” and thank you again for being such a blessing to Alisa, Lewis, and the entire family. We are all so blessed.
