Dr. Kyle B. Usrey is currently a professor of international business and finance at Colorado Christian University in Denver, Colorado. He is the former president of LCC International University, a Christian university in Europe (2009-2012). He has also been the chief academic officer of the undergraduate college at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas (2007-09), and the charter of dean of the School of Global Commerce and Management at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington (2001-2007). He was a professor of Ethics and International Business at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas (1999-2001), a Visiting Scholar in Law at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia (1998), and Professor and Foreign Expert in International Business and Law at Yanshan University in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province in the People’s Republic of China (1996-1998). He has worked and taught on six continents over the last fifteen years.
Kyle has also worked in business and government as a financial executive for GTE, now Verizon & Sprint, in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Wisconsin, and Texas. In Washington, DC, he worked for the Chairman of the Board of GTE and The Business Roundtable as a lobbyist. He later worked as a law clerk for two federal judges, and a trial lawyer for a multinational law firm (Kirkland& Ellis) out of Chicago, and also as in-house counsel for McGraw-Hill in Colorado Springs. In 2006 Kyle was appointed as an administrative law judge by the Governor of Washington as the Citizen-at-Large representative on the Washington State Ethics Commission, overseeing ethics violations of over 200,000 state employees.
Kyle has also served in officer roles for several small business corporations, and Christian non-profits and NGOs doing work in international locations and has provided consulting services for the governments of Bulgaria, Zanzibar, and China. He is the author of a number of business, ethics, and legal articles (published at Yale, Oxford, and in the London Financial Times) as well as a textbook on International Business Law. Dr. Usrey has lectured and been a guest speaker on six continents on issues of globalization, international law, international business, business ethics, business as missions, Christian micro-enterprise development, emerging intellectual property issues, corporate governance, and other topics.
Kyle lives in Boulder Colorado and is married to Trisa, and they have an adoptive Chinese daughter and adoptive Cameroonian son.
