The Alumni Council was formed in 2018 to create, manage, and promote the Bakke Graduate University's Alumni Network and Alumni Events. We regularly meet virtually to strategize whatever's coming up next. If you're an alum and would like to be a part of the council, please let us know. We're always looking for committed members to help us get the word out about BGU.

Our current members include:

Gail Hallman
I have the privilege of serving as a professor in the College of Theology at Grand Canyon University and Grand Canyon Theological Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve been teaching here as an adjunct for almost six years now. For over thirty years I worked with Christian non-profit organizations in the areas of leadership development, missions training, and community ministry. My passion is missional discipleship. I love helping folks learn about and get involved in the Mission of God, whether that means church-based ministries or as a Christ follower in their place of work.

My undergraduate degree is from Erskine College. I have a Masters in Religious Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I graduated from BGU in 2007 with a DMin in Transformational Leadership. BGU and my studies there have had a profound affect on my life and ministry. It opened my eyes literally to the world and changed my worldview!

Greetings fellow Alums! As someone who once declared I’d likely never go to college, I’ve spent my adult life discovering the extreme joy of learning, whether formally or on the job. I completed my BA in Social Science at Pacific Christian College, an MA in Education at Claremont Graduate University, and a DTL here at BGU (a 2018 grad). I like experiencing life with a variety of strong flavors, just like I prefer my food. Over the years, I’ve worked in retail management, photography, as a public school teacher, a worship leader, a programming coordinator and an Executive Director for a non-profit. I love launching new things and creating with others. I’m also riding the thrill ride of motherhood with two teens, along with my handyman husband Joe, in Indiana.

Antoine Hawkins
Hello BGU Alumni Network and Friends! I currently serve as a C-Level Executive in public education where I am responsible for a budget of over $150 million in public funds. I am passionate about building great educational organizations and facilitating global connections in order for us to realize our “collective mandate” to impact the world. I am honored to serve BGU alumni and address educational inequities by helping to spread the word that our university contains a diverse plethora of ideas, we offer family connection, a solid education, and most assuredly we take what we learn and apply that learning at our local level in order to facilitate change in our communities. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Touro College and University System, and a Doctorate degree in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University (2018). I am also a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Urban Superintendent program; and I am a certified Chief Business Official, and an adjunct professor at the university level. Go BGU!

Andrea Mullins
Greetings, Alumni, from Birmingham, Alabama! After twenty-seven years I retired from Woman’s Missionary Union of the SBC as Product Development Center Director, Publisher (including books by Ray Bakke, Brad Smith, and other BGU grads), WorldCraftssm director (an international fair-trade ministry). I’ve led evangelism teams internationally and locally. Along the way, I’ve written guides for church missions leaders, authored two books, and recently wrote and recorded two courses for the Christian Women’s Leadership Center (cwlcleaders.com). I teach and mentor in a GED program, teach in the Bible study program at my church, and am a virtual participant in the 2019 Lausanne Global Workplace Forum. I recently completed CPE training for chaplaincy and have joined the staff of Marketplace Chaplains as a chaplain. My education includes a MDiv from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a DMin in Transformational Leadership from BGU in 2007. I attend Dawson Family of Faith in Birmingham, Alabama, with my husband, Mike.  We have one daughter and son-in-law, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

Dr. Bill Tenny-Brittian PortraitHi! Over the last 37+ years in ministry, I’ve managed to author or co-author a bunch of books (ten so far including Hitchhikers’ Guide to Evangelism and Effective Staffing for Vital Churches); serve growing churches; become the Managing Partner of a church consulting firm (EffectiveChurch.com); pick up a couple of ongoing teaching assignments at Phillips Theological Seminary for the Ministry Training Program (I teach evangelism, preaching, and church leadership); and in my spare time manage and edit Net Results Magazine (church growth and evangelism … it’s been around since 1980). A couple years ago, I was called to the Raytown Christian Church (suburb of Kansas City, Missouri) and have engaged in an aggressive turnaround effort. I have a BTh from the Florida Baptist College; an MDiv from Candler School of Theology, Emory University; and my DMin in Church Multiplication Movements came from BGU in 2004. I’m married to the Rev. Dr. Kris Tenny-Brittian (BGU:DMin, 2006) and we live in Columbia, Missouri with four Old English Sheepdogs.
