Churches across America are in conflict. It is not restricted to a certain part of the country or to certain churches or denominations. It is the conviction of the author that much of the reason for this conflict is because the church across America fails to apply principles given in the Bible. These principles guide the church in dealing with conflict. It is not that conflict in itself is bad; conflict can be good if handled correctly. It can help the church to mature and develop. The fact that each of us is a fallen creature indicates that conflict will exist. Often when a church goes through difficult times due to church conflict the pastor and church members are too quick to deal with it 'in the flesh.' The Lord provides principles in His Word on how to handle conflict. Scripture tells us that the battle must start in the spiritual realm if we are to be effective in the physical realm. The Apostle Paul said, 'For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms' (Ephesians 6:12). Response to such struggles must start with prayer, fasting, and praise, to cite only a few of our spiritual weapons
