Transformational Coaching as a Construct for the Leadership Development for the Los Angeles South Coast District of the Foursquare Church

This dissertation addresses the problem of why many pastors attend conference after conference about church growth never seeming to grow a bigger church. The study addresses the need to more effectively serve the leadership development of pastors when more traditional methods have proven ineffective. It also outlines the strategy used to address this need. Relevant scriptural examples of leadership development through coaching are reviewed and applied to coaching examples implemented by various leaders. The project also includes observations by those who have worked closely in ministry with the leaders served in this study in order to show third-party impressions of how transformational coaching served the development of the leaders.
