Thank you for prayerfully considering participating in the BGU Legacy Fund. Your donation will go to a permanent fund that will allow BGU to fulfill regulatory requirements to maintain a 10% cash reserve at all times. This foundation from BGU graduates and friends will allow BGU to have a healthy financial underpinning for many years to come.
Dennis and Eileen Bakke have provided a matching gift to help establish this fund so we want to take this opportunity to offer them a token of gratitude not just for this gift, but the extraordinary legacy the four Bakke siblings; Dennis, Ray, Lowell, and Marilyn, have given to BGU.
To help both match their gift and to tell the story of BGU especially during the years the Bakke family was so directly involved, we are preparing a digital photo book of pictures and notes from those who want to express gratitude. For donations of $1000 before June 30, 2019, you can reserve a full page in the photo book that will be given to the four siblings of the Bakke family who allowed their life stories to tell the paradoxical BGU vision of urban, business, pastoral, and women leaders studying together in global graduate studies. We realize $1000 is a sacrificial donation. You may want to contact others to prepare a group page with students you studied with or give $500 for one-half of a page or $250 for a one-quarter section of a page. We would like to make this presentation a surprise to the Bakke family, so we appreciate your discretion.
As you prepare your page, some ideas of what you might include:
Photos from your time at BGU or current photos updating what you are doing now.
A note of gratitude to the Bakke family and other key faculty, staff, board members or fellow students who inspired and encouraged you.
An anecdote of a time when you gained a whole new perspective on God, the Bible or the world during your studies; a humorous story in class or during an overture city immersion; or a particularly challenging time where others encouraged you.
A statement of what you are doing now and how your time at BGU contributed to your current calling.
We hope that the book will provide encouragement to the Bakkes for their work, generosity and life story. An on-line digital version will also serve as a way for BGU graduates and partners to reflect with gratitude on how God used the BGU family to impact all of us.
