This dissertation seeks to answer the question how churches in crisis can become so revitalized that they are well equipped to effectively reach out to one another within the church and to a world in crisis. The answer is found in the revitalization of the priesthood of all believers within the setting of small groups. This requires the transformation of the traditional churches into Two-Dimensional churches. These postmodern churches are churches that are organized and structured around small ministry groups. Since the priesthood of all believers is the pivotal issue in the process of revitalization, this doctoral study looks at the universal priesthood from a biblical, historical and postmodern perspective.
