This dissertation addresses the lack of information, training, interest, and models for discipling women living in poverty in cities across the United States. Discovering the way Christ mentored his followers, researching existing discipleship projects within the United States, and reviewing one project in particular helps present transformational approaches for growth so that the reader may understand mentoring relationships with low-income women and may become equipped for ministry.
